JCXPの情報によると、Microsoftが自身のブラウザレンダリングエンジンをあきらめ、Safariで採用されているWebKitを採用するウワサがあるようです。また、驚くべきことに、Internet Explorerをバージョン8で終了し、新ブラウザの立ち上げを検討しているというウワサもあるようです。
レンダリング速度では最下位を争い、シェアも少しずつ、しかし確実に減少しているInternet Explorerですが、それでも最も使用されているブラウザでは1位をキープしています。真偽は別として、そのブランド名を捨てるというウワサについては驚かされました。現状、上がっている名前は「ガゼル」というもので、WebKitを採用するのかどうかはまだはっきりとはしていません。
